Privacy Policy

Last updated 22 October 2026

The short version

SideEye keeps what you play on your device. There is no SideEye account, no sign-in and no cloud sync, and we run no server for SideEye, so we never receive, sell or share your game data. SideEye has no ads, no usage analytics, no crash reporting, no tracking and no AI features. If you buy SideEye All, Apple or Google handles the payment. On Android, the purchase is also recorded with RevenueCat, a service we use to confirm purchases: it gets an anonymous ID and your SideEye All purchase record, never your games, names or answers.

Who we are

SideEye is made and published by Praveen Kumar, an independent developer publishing under the name Beamaze (“Beamaze”, “we”, “us”). You can reach us at support@beamaze.in.

What SideEye stores on your device

SideEye saves the following in its own private storage on your phone or tablet. None of it is uploaded to us or anyone else:

Private answers

What a player types or picks on a private screen is used for that round. SideEye does not keep a log of private answers, votes or guesses. When a round then reveals something to the whole room—for example a real Fake Out answer, an answer in Who Said It?, or a secret from Secret Scene—SideEye may keep a one-line note of it in that group’s memory on the device, up to 80 notes per group, so a later game can bring it back. Individual votes and guesses are not kept; at most, the room’s overall result is.

What we receive

Nothing about your games. SideEye has no SideEye account and no backend of its own, and we have no way to see your groups, players, answers, packs or scores. SideEye does not send anything you enter to us, to an AI service or to any other third party. The only thing we can see is the SideEye All purchase record kept by RevenueCat on Android (see “Buying SideEye All”), under an anonymous ID that does not tell us who you are.

Internet use

SideEye’s games work offline. The app uses the internet only for two things: SideEye All (to show its price, buy it, restore it, and check that a purchase is still valid), through Apple’s App Store or Google Play and, on Android, RevenueCat; and an optional check for a newer version of SideEye.

The update check runs in the background a few seconds after the app opens, and when you tap Check for updates in Settings. On iPhone, SideEye asks Apple’s public App Store lookup service for SideEye’s current version in your App Store country; the request contains SideEye’s app identifier and that country code, and nothing about you or your games. On Android, SideEye asks Google Play, through Google’s in-app update service on your device, whether a newer version is available. Like any internet request, these reach Apple or Google from your device’s network address, and Apple’s and Google’s privacy policies cover them. If you are offline or the store does not answer, nothing happens. SideEye does not record or send the result anywhere; it only remembers on your device when you chose “Later”, so it doesn’t ask again for a week.

On Android, Google’s billing and update libraries and RevenueCat’s library add the internet and network-state permissions for this. Google’s billing library may also send Google limited technical diagnostics about the billing service. These go to Google, not to us; Beamaze does not receive them.

SideEye does not ask for access to your contacts, camera, microphone, photos or location.

Buying SideEye All

SideEye All is a one-time purchase made through the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google takes the payment; SideEye never sees your payment details, name or email address. To unlock the games, the store tells the app the product, a purchase or transaction identifier, and whether the purchase is complete. SideEye keeps that confirmation on your device so the games stay unlocked offline. Restoring a purchase asks the store which purchases belong to the store account signed in on the device. Apple’s and Google’s own privacy policies cover the purchase records they keep.

RevenueCat (Android). On Android, SideEye uses RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.) to check SideEye All purchases with Google Play and keep a record of them for us. When SideEye starts, and when you buy or restore, the app sends RevenueCat an anonymous ID that RevenueCat creates for this install, the Google Play purchase record for SideEye All (product, purchase token, purchase date and status), and basic technical details (app version, Android version, device language and store country). Like any internet request, it also reaches RevenueCat from your device’s network address. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, payment details, or anything about your groups, players, answers or games, and SideEye does not use it for advertising or tracking. RevenueCat processes this for us as a service provider; its privacy policy describes how it handles the data. To have these purchase records deleted, write to us (see below).

Sharing a result card

At the end of a Game Night you can share a result card. It is made on your device and may show the group name, player names and scores. SideEye saves it as a temporary image in the app’s own storage and hands it to your phone’s share sheet only when you tap Share; it goes only where you send it. Nothing is shared automatically.

Device backups

If your device backs up apps (for example iCloud Backup, or Android’s backup to your Google account), that backup may include SideEye’s data. Backups are handled by Apple or Google under their terms, not by us.

Deleting your data

Because everything is on your device, you control it:

Deleting SideEye’s data does not cancel or refund SideEye All. The purchase stays with your App Store or Google Play account, which is why Restore Purchases can bring it back.

Children

SideEye does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. Player names stay on the device. The anonymous purchase record described under “Buying SideEye All” is not linked to a name or email.

Changes to this policy

If SideEye starts handling data differently, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change reaches the app.
